Together promotes underwriting expert Duncan Abraham to director

Specialist lender Together has promoted company stalwart Duncan Abraham to oversee its regulated and unregulated underwriting operations.

Duncan, who joined the finance group 25 years ago, was previously Head of Residential Underwriting and will take up his new role as Underwriting Operations Director next week.

The highly-experienced financial services professional will take responsibility for 64 colleagues underwriting Together’s personal and commercial finance funding applications.

The move is designed to further streamline processes, making it easier for brokers submitting cases to Together.

Duncan said:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for us to be able to combine our underwriting operations under one leadership structure, so that both our personal and commercial finance teams can share best practice, to make sure we get the best outcomes for our broker partners and customers.”

A well-known face in the specialist lending market, Duncan started his career with Together a quarter of a century ago, beginning as an administrator before becoming an underwriter.

He has been head of residential underwriting at the award-winning lender for the past seven years.

Duncan said:

“I have 25 years of working alongside brokers to promote Together’s ethos of common sense lending.

I’ve predominantly worked in residential underwriting, where I’ve implemented structure and processes that have received great feedback from the market.

My new position will give me the opportunity to lead commercial underwriting as well, looking at our entire operation, and through the lens of our partners to provide the best possible service.”

Duncan will report to Darren Clarke, Group Operations Director at Together.
