Cheadle-based lender Together is supporting Cash for Kids, Mission Christmas campaign to make sure every child in Manchester receives a gift this Christmas.

The campaign, which helps the thousands of children who are living in poverty, sees Together make a financial donation to the programme as well as provide colleague volunteer support and a matched gifting programme.

In October, Together donated £10,000 to the charity demonstrating its ambition to support at the heart of the community.

Following that, a decision by Marc Goldberg, CEO Sales & Distribution to provide more support to children has seen Together change its approach to corporate gifting enabling a further donation of £20,000 to the cause.

Together’s 750 employees have also been mobilised to support the event through gift donations to help fulfil the 37,000 applications made for presents in the Manchester area.

Colleagues are encouraged to provide gifts from Mission Christmas’ wish list, which Together will also match with an additional item.

Gifts are chosen from the charity’s wholesale contacts ranging from headphones, toys and beauty products ensuring that recipients receive a quality gift suitable for their age and interests.

Over 40 Together volunteers will also support the charity this Christmas with various activities over the Christmas season to make sure items are collected and delivered to those in need.

Cash for Kids is a grant-giving charity helping the children that need it most in the UK and according to End Poverty Now one in three children in Greater Manchester live in poverty.

Kevin Fisher, Together’s Chief People Officer said:

“Many families face the prospect of not being able to give their children a present this Christmas – we want to help Cash For Kids reach as many needy families as possible by mobilising our colleagues and providing financial support too.

We’re pleased that our people want to play their part in supporting our local community.”

Jess Rigby, Charity Manager at Cash for Kids said:

“We are so absolutely over the moon that Together has continued its support to Mission Christmas with a further donation and also engaging colleagues to support the event.

Through the funds and gifts that we receive, we will be closer to being able to bring Christmas to the 37,000 children in Greater Manchester who would otherwise wake up to no gift at all.

For a small charity like Cash for Kids to get the support from a business like Together makes a huge difference.”
