The Five Minute Interview with Marc Champ, Property Finance Broker, Bespoke Business Finance

Bespoke Business Finance have been established since 2002 and sit on every restricted broker panel within the property and commercial finance industry.

They therefore have the ability to approach any lender on behalf of their clients within this market and regularly conduct business with 35-40 lenders.

Bespoke Business Finance are well respected within the commercial lending market and have strong relationships with a number of lenders.

We speak to property finance broker, Marc Champ:

What is the best thing about being in the bridging and development finance business?

The diversity of transactions is the biggest draw to bridging and development for me. Coupled with the fast pace, it is the most attractive part of the market in my opinion.

Each transaction is different and mastering this area of finance is a must for any successful broker.

What keeps you focused?

Delivering for the customer in a timely manner! Throughout my 15 year banking career I have learnt the importance of making sure the customer is at the centre of everything.

Focusing on the right customer outcome is integral to every deal.

What qualities do you look for in your employees or colleagues?

Unselfishness – helping each other out and sharing knowledge.

Are you an optimist or a pessimist?

I am definitely an optimist. Every experience is an opportunity to learn.

What did you want to be as a child?

I liked the idea of being an RAF pilot. Maybe because I was an 80’s child growing up with Top Gun.

What will be the greatest challenge facing the bridging and development finance industry in the coming months?

The obvious answer is Brexit, but in my experience any ‘wobble’ leads to opportunities. Bridging and development bring these opportunities to life!

Who or what makes you laugh?

The ‘Green Army’ which is a charity cycling organisation I am part of (we welcome new members).

We do the most fantastic rides (this year Vienna to Prague- 370 miles 20,000 ft in climbing) and laughing gets us through the long, steep climbs!

Do you dread Monday mornings?

Mondays are great. An opportunity to meet new people and gain new experiences.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I would be an inch taller. Six foot sounds better.

With whom would you most like to have dinner?

My wife. Since the kids have come along we haven’t really had much chance to get out by ourselves. I would really like to take her to La Gavroche.
