It specialises in conveyancing in the bridging and commercial sectors, providing highly trained solicitors as named points of contact to those who operate in this niche sector.

We speak to business development manager Emma Mason:

What is the best thing about being in the bridging finance business?

After the tough last few years in the wider financial market, it is fantastic to be involved in a sector full of positive and optimistic people.

There’s growth, innovation and a real commitment to improving standards. It’s refreshing!

What keeps you focused?

Enjoying what I do – it doesn’t feel like a job and I love meeting brokers up and down the country and helping them get their cases to completion.

What qualities do you look for in your employees or colleagues?

I am lucky to work with people at Blacks Connect who are passionate about their job and industry they work in, as well as having a great sense of humour.

Are you an optimist or a pessimist?

I would say I am an optimist think my husband would disagree!

What did you want to be as a child?

I always dreamt of being a teacher or an author.

What will be the greatest challenge facing the bridging finance industry in the coming months?

This is a fast-growing and quickly evolving market, with many professional businesses offering much-needed products to clients.

But the challenge is to maintain these professional standards across the whole sector as it expands, and everyone involved in bridging has a role to play in achieving that.

Who or what makes you laugh?

My pets…I’ve got five cats and two dogs.

Do you dread Monday mornings?

Never …if you do it’s definitely time for a career change!

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I wish I could learn to tidy up after myself. Domestic goddess I am not!
