Oblix Capital provides bespoke short-term bridging and development finance, for both residential and commercial properties, throughout England and Wales.

Their aim is to make quick decisions, whilst remaining approachable, flexible and completely transparent.

We speak to Sales Director, Andy Reid:

What is the best thing about being in the bridging finance business?

It’s a very fast paced environment in the bridging sector and a full-on day in the office can be an adrenalin rush.

Some cases presented come with challenges which we fully embrace and I really enjoy some of the complexities of the development deals.

What keeps you focused?

The absolute desire to ensure our pace and delivery is such that we stay ahead of the curve, maintaining existing client and broker relationships and building upon our reputation as a go-to bridging and development provider.

What qualities do you look for in your employees or colleagues?

I’m a firm believer that our business is based upon constant contact and visibility with our brokers so a dynamic personality, a willingness to succeed and a firm knowledge of the business, products and market place is essential.

Are you an optimist or a pessimist?

What’s a pessimist?!

What did you want to be as a child?

A professional footballer.

What will be the greatest challenge facing the bridging/development finance industry in the coming months?

The market sector is saturated with lending providers so it’s key to stay one step ahead , stand out by making a difference, remain innovative and creative whilst maintaining the confidence of the introducers and brokers.

Who or what makes you laugh?

Some of my poor golf shots!

Do you dread Monday mornings?

No, I’m exactly the opposite. After a relaxing weekend the start of a new week is always exciting and you never quite know what’s coming your way – I like that buzz!

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Not to drink so much coffee!

With whom would you most like to have dinner?

It would have to big a pretty big table! – all of my family and close friends, along with Ray Winstone, Robert De Nero, Kevin Bacon, Bubba Watson, Darren Clarke, Paul Weller, Paul MacCartney, Rick Stein, and the late great George Michael.
