Downing appoints Head of Risk & Portfolio

Downing LLP has appointed Patrick Walton as Head of Risk & Portfolio in the property finance team. Patrick brings almost 20 years of experience within the property and real estate sector to Downing.

Patrick’s previous roles included being Head of Portfolio Management, Southern Region, at Homes England, which oversaw £450m+ of debt across 70+ clients. Before this, he held senior roles in both risk and coverage at HSBC and RBS.

Downing has appointed Patrick to oversee portfolio and transaction management, as well as bolster the overall credit risk function as the business continues to grow.

This news comes as Downing’s Property Finance team passed £300 million in commitments since inception.

This growth was delivered without any loss of capital or interest to date, despite tough market conditions.
