Avamore Capital expands underwriting team

Avamore Capital has hired Gili Cohen, pictured, as its fourth underwriter; the appointment comes as the £300M lender targets ambitious growth plans for the remainder of 2021 and aims to build on its success to date.

Gili joins Avamore after spending 3 years at Pluto Finance where he was responsible for underwriting loans predominately in the £10m+ space.

His prior experience on larger ticket transactions will elevate Avamore’s capacity to access deals outside of the lender’s current parameters and this will play a key part in being able to expand market share.

Gili has historically been involved in transactions from front end origination, deal assessment and underwriting right through to asset management.

His ability to take a lateral approach, being both reflective and forward thinking on cases, will be hugely important particularly for deals which use the lender’s award-winning part-built product, the Finish & Exit.

Gili’s understanding of the development market and the range of transactions he has executed to date puts him in a strong position to align with Avamore’s solution driven ethos.

Expanding the underwriting team follows recent announcements of growth across all departments at Avamore with a particular focus on front end origination.
