Glenhawk appoints business development manager

Glenhawk, the fast growing UK challenger lender, is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Turner, pictured above, as Business Development Manager, effective immediately.

He joins Glenhawk’s 21 strong team of experts from Shawbrook Bank, where he originated over £100 million of bridging and term loans in 2018, as the business moves into its next phase of growth.

His appointment closely follows that of Steven Khan as Chief Operating Officer last month, further strengthening the growth of the business.

Based in London, Peter will report to the company’s Director of Lending, Nick Hilton. He will be responsible for expanding and strengthening Glenhawk’s broker relationships in London and the South East, as well as driving Glenhawk’s ambition to build out the loan book across England and Wales.

Peter will also work closely with the senior leadership team on the planned launch of several new products later this year.

Peter, who was a Regional Development Manager at Shawbrook Bank since 2012, brings with him a successful track record in loan origination, with a particular focus on the residential and commercial bridging markets.

Prior to Shawbrook, he held the role of Commercial Director at All Types of Mortgages, where he oversaw the running of its commercial and short-term business.

His near 20 years of real estate lending experience also includes roles at Commercial 1, RBS and Barclays.

Glenhawk has an active pipeline of over £38 million of deals, as it looks to build on the £66.4 million lent since January 2018.

The month of July saw £10.1 million of loans originated, a near record month, as the demand from a range of property professionals for the fast and flexible short-term lending solutions that it offers remains strong.

Guy Harrington, CEO of Glenhawk, commented:

“Peter is joining us at a hugely exciting time, as we continue to put in place the infrastructure to support our growth ambitions, including growing the loan book to £100 million and expanding into new parts of the market.

Specifically, his technical expertise operating in the bridging market and deep broker relationships built up at Shawbrook will be a huge asset to us as we look to grow our footprint both in our key markets in and around London as well as across the UK.

His appointment is the latest example of our ability to attract high calibre individuals from both our competitors and other established financial institutions, which bodes extremely well for the future of Glenhawk.”
