In our latest five minute interview, Tony Sanchez speaks to Sahira Gondal, Case Handler at Bluecroft Finance.

Based in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, Bluecroft Finance do bridging the way it should be done.

Fast & flexible finance solutions to meet the diverse needs of individuals & businesses that require short-term funding.

What is the best thing about being in the bridging finance business?

No two deals are ever the same, which makes every day a new learning experience.

Each case is unique, giving me the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from residential to commercial.

What keeps you focused?

Has to be coffee, without it, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to function!

On a more serious note, working closely with different departments, brokers, and legal teams lets me collaborate and learn from the experts in the field.

It’s like getting a front-row seat to a masterclass every day, coffee in hand, of course!

What qualities do you look for in your employees or colleagues?

With tight deadlines and multiple cases to manage, time management is key.

I’d be looking for someone who can prioritise, stay on top of deadlines, and remain organised even when things get hectic.

Oh, and they should definitely be able to handle the constant stream of jokes around the office, laughter is the best stressbuster, right?

Are you an optimist or a pessimist?

I would’ve called myself an optimist at first, believing that every case would complete.

But that perspective changed pretty quickly, I’ve learned that not every case is going to make it to the finish line!

So I’d say I am a REALIST!

What did you want to be as a child?

While trying to figure it all out, my mind was never really made up, one minute I wanted to be a solicitor, the next an entrepreneur, and then who knows what else!

The options were endless, and so were the changes.

That said, I’m now fully content in the bridging industry. It’s keeping me busy and satisfied.

What will be the greatest challenge facing the bridging finance industry in the coming months?

The navigating of the tightening of credit markets and fluctuating interest rates.

Lenders and borrowers similarly will need to stay adaptable and ensure they’re maintaining a balance between speed and flexibility while also ensuring that exit strategies are achievable.

Who or what makes you laugh?

Epic fail videos on social media always get me!

There’s something about watching people’s harmless mishaps that never fails to crack me up.

Do you dread Monday mornings?

Not going to lie, it all depends on the Sunday I’ve had!

But once I catch up with the team and get my caffeine fix, the start of the week doesn’t seem quite as overwhelming.

Caffeine truly works wonders!

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

To come out of my comfort zone more.

With whom would you most like to have dinner?

My Dad. Have lots to catch up with since he has been gone.
