Roma Finance is a bridging and development finance lender, offering short term loans secured on residential, commercial and industrial properties for acquisition, renovation and change of use.
They also offer a 5 year BTL mortgage on investment residential properties and HMO’s.
We speak to divisional sales manager, Daniel Hill:
The most exciting thing is that no two deals are the same.
I deal with introducers looking for finance for many different types of project for their clients – from converting property to rental units, buying at auction and looking at business plans for commercial projects.
Every day is different and as we’ve now launched a 5-year mortgage for property investors the cases are now even more varied.
What keeps you focused?
Hitting my targets and doing the best for the company.
What qualities do you look for in your employees or colleagues?
Hard working and team players. At Roma we have our brand values which include Integrity, Professionalism and Team Work.
We all enjoy working to these and the team are highly experienced in finance to help introducers and their customers.
Are you an optimist or a pessimist?
I’m a very optimistic person. Always have been.
What did you want to be as a child?
I always dreamed of being a footballer. I suppose you could say I got into the Roma team!
What will be the greatest challenge facing the bridging and development finance industry in the coming months?
Our business levels are very buoyant and it’s an exciting time to be in the bridging sector.
Some cases need to be carefully reviewed and underwritten but with a commercial view as well in order to see if we can get the deals over the line to completion.
It’s also important that lenders have the funding in place to fulfil their cases now and into the future.
At Roma we have consistent institutional funding lines in place and that has allowed us to develop new and innovative products.
Who or what makes you laugh?
I like many of the comedy shows on TV.
Do you dread Monday mornings?
No, I look forward to them!
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Having a six pack.
With whom would you most like to have dinner?
Michelle Keegan – I think she would have some really interesting stories about her life and other celebrities.
