The Five Minute Interview with Carl Graham, BDM, Bridgebank Capital
By Tony Sanchez
Bridgebank Capital are one of the UK’s leading property finance lenders in the area of Bridging and Short Term property finance, specialising in residential and commercial property transactions.
We speak to business development manager, Carl Graham:
What is the best thing about being in the bridging finance business?
Having worked within Financial Services for over 8 years, it’s fair to say I thrive on the dynamic and ever evolving industry that is bridging.
As the bridging market continues to grow and develop, never has there been a better time to be involved in this exciting arena.
What keeps you focused?
I am extremely enthusiastic, competitive and have a hunger to succeed. As a BDM, I ensure I am fully up to speed with my entire pipeline, whilst at the same time making sure I’m developing new relationships which in turn generates new business.
The demands of the role and the targets I set myself ensure I stay focussed.
What qualities do you look for in your employees or colleagues?
It is very important that my colleagues show the same commitment to the company as I do. It’s important to have a ‘can do attitude’ in this industry, otherwise you’ll never succeed.
We have a strong teamwork ethos at Bridgebank Capital which provides exceptional service.
Are you an optimist or a pessimist?
I’m an eternal optimist – being a Liverpool supporter proves that!
What did you want to be as a child?
For me it was always the dream of becoming a Professional Racing Driver. Fast paced, rich & famous……need I say more.
What will be the greatest challenge facing the bridging finance industry in the coming months?
With regulation of the bridging market seemingly on the horizon, this will bring with it a number of considerations not least the fact that new and existing lenders will have to be responsible and deliver on their promises.
Who or what makes you laugh?
Michael Macintyre for sure! However, the £50 million Chelsea spent on Torres has to make you laugh.
Do you dread Monday mornings?
Never. The good old cliché that every day is different is never more apparent than in the Bridging Market coupled with our flexible approach to lending…..it makes for an exciting week ahead.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
It would probably be the ability to delegate. I’d much rather work through the night than delegate work elsewhere.
With whom would you most like to have dinner?
The legend that was Ayrton Senna.
