They have offices in London, Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast, giving them the local market knowledge and physical presence to make quick decisions.
Ortus pride themselves on reliability. Since they were established in 2013, they have consistently supported brokers regardless of economic and political events.
Tony Sanchez speaks to lending manager, Daniel Eastwood:
What is the best thing about being in the bridging finance business?
I think a lot of people are finding it difficult to raise finance at the minute so it is great to be working for a lender in Ortus that wants to do business.
What keeps you focused?
The tight timeframes that we work to and keeping our customers happy, we have no choice but to be focused in the bridging industry as our objectives are always geared towards fast delivery and satisfied customers.
What qualities do you look for in your employees or colleagues?
Honesty and integrity.
Are you an optimist or a pessimist?
Definitely an optimist.
What did you want to be as a child?
I was a very keen golfer in my youth and hailing from the same golf club as Rory McIlroy (Holywood) myself and all the kids at the club aspired to become professionals, although most of us probably realised early on that it wasn’t achievable!
What will be the greatest challenge facing the bridging finance industry in the coming months?
We are obviously living in times where the future is impossible to predict, I think a big challenge will be remaining active to changes in the market once the government assistance that many industries have relied on so heavily stops.
This will present both opportunities and threats to us as a business and I think the challenge will be successfully navigating both.
Who or what makes you laugh?
I’m a big Ricky Gervais fan, he seems like a pretty carefree guy.
Do you dread Monday mornings?
I like to have a positive start to the week, get up early, do some exercise and get ahead of things.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would like to have a little more patience!
With whom would you most like to have dinner?
Dead: Anthony Bourdain
Alive: David Goggins
