We speak to director Ian Parsons:
What is the best thing about being in the bridging finance business
Being able to help someone’s project come alive.
What keeps you focussed?
Ambition and the desire to succeed.
What qualities do you look for in your employees or colleagues?
Someone who will make the difference and it’s always enjoyable if they are fun to work with.
Are you an optimist or a pessimist?
I’ve been an optimist all my life, besides bringing its own positivity it helps you achieve your goals
What did you want to be as a child?
Successful in whatever I did, I kept my options open on the career path but always wanted to make a difference to a business.
What will be the greatest challenge facing the bridging finance industry in the coming months?
The market is competitive and clearly many will be chasing headline rates that appear ground breaking, whilst fees are used to compensate the danger is that the industry is chasing a large loan book rather than a good one.
Who or what makes you laugh?
You have to watch out for the day to day little things that put a smile on your face, comedians make you laugh out loud but the little things bring a touch of magic to each day.
Do you dread Monday mornings?
No, those who do are in the wrong job!
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I will keep improving my own qualities, and accept there will always be room for improvement.
With whom would you most like to have dinner?
You can’t better a great meal with close friends, and when inviting someone new you hope they have a good personality, enjoyed life and the more humour in the conversation the better.
