Octane Capital has today announced the fifth addition to their BDM team in the last 18 months, growing their number of field-based BDMs to nine.

The lender has ambitious targets to surpass £2 billion in lending by Q2 of this year and to double its loan book, and this recruitment drive is a central part of the plan.

Lewis Whittaker joins from Lowry Capital where he spent 3 years as a BDM.

The hire also underlines Octane’s focus on driving regional deal flow.

Jonathan Samuels, CEO at Octane Capital, commented:

“We are delighted to welcome someone of Lewis’ calibre to the team.

Over the last two years, we have completed a significant number of deals in the north of the country,  particularly in the Midlands and the north west.

Lewis is now our second field-based BDM permanently based in these areas and will allow us to ensure our brokers have a local point of contact.

Lewis brings a wealth of experience in short-term finance and I’m sure he’ll be a big asset to the team.”

Lewis commented:

“I am delighted to have joined Octane and to be working with such a highly regarded team.

From my conversations with Jonathan and Richard, it is clear that Octane are fully committed to grow its presence in the north further and my appointment highlights the dedication to the region.

I look forward to further building strong relationships with brokers and supporting them in achieving best outcomes for their clients.”
