Market Financial Solutions (MFS) has revealed that 49 team members gained promotions in 2023, including several team members rising to senior management positions, while it is actively hiring across a number of vacancies.

MFS has also bolstered its legal and compliance department.

In September 2023, Ryan Magee was brought in as general counsel, and since then, a fully-fledged money laundering reporting officer (MLRO), paralegal and legal secretary have been added to the team.

The specialist lender’s team grew to over 100 in size in 2023, but the company maintained its keen focus on nurturing and furthering its existing employees.

Over the past 12 months, it has celebrated promotions for members of the business development, relationship management, underwriting and marketing teams, among others.

Karen Rodrigues, who joined MFS as head of national accounts in July 2023, ended the year with a promotion to the role of head of sales; Imogen Williams and Thomas Gill both became key accounts managers; and Sumit Sapra, Shaun Bains and Jemima Hayes all took the step up from being senior underwriters to become underwriting team leaders.

Sharon Hewes is now group financial controller & individual investor relations; Leah Brunskill has been named as MFS’s new head of marketing (previously senior marketing manager); Armando Godina Carrasco has been promoted to head of financial analysis & treasury; and Karen Johnson has become head of recoveries and collections.

MFS currently has several vacancies, which span its BDM, underwriting, and relationship management teams.

Maria Gilbert, chief of staff at MFS, said:

“As the business grows, it is essential that members of the team have the opportunity to grow as well.

To that end, it is hugely pleasing to reflect on the individual successes and milestones that have been achieved over the past year – we hope this will inspire the entire team as we enter our 18th year as a lender, demonstrating how people’s hard work is constantly recognised and rewarded.”

Paresh Raja, CEO of MFS, added:

“The talent and work ethic of our team is fundamental to our success; we’d be nothing without the brilliant professionals within MFS.

Crucially, it is those who have the experience, expertise and truly understand our ethos who are best placed to drive us forward – these are the people who are rising to senior management roles, and I’m really excited to see how they, and we as a business, continue to develop and improve in 2024.”
