Shawbrook Bank has announced the appointment of a new Sales Desk Team Leader within its Commercial Mortgages department.
Nik Phillips joins at a key time, as the specialist lender continues to grow its originations whilst navigating the challenges of upcoming regulatory change. The PRA’s new underwriting standards for portfolio landlords are due to land on 30th September, and the Commercial Mortgages team has been vocal in its commitment to providing educational resources for both brokers and their clients.
Phillips has a long track record in team leader and management roles throughout the last decade. This includes a two year spell as Sales Director for Reclaimbankfees and seven years as Sales and Acquisitions Manager for the property investment firm Colour Capital. In a previous life Phillips was also a football agent for RA Management, demonstrating a wealth of experience and an ability to manage different personalities in a wide range of working environments.
When asked on his reasons for joining Shawbrook, Phillips, pictured, comments:
“From everything I found out about Shawbrook, I got the impression that this is a sustainable, forward-thinking, customer centric bank that’s growing rapidly. This is a rare find in today’s financial markets and a very interesting prospect for me. I join an exceptional team already, and look forward to implementing systems and processes which will build on the excellent work my colleagues are already doing.”
Sales Director for Shawbrook Commercial, Emma Cox, adds:
“Nik was the outstanding candidate and proved throughout a rigorous interview process that he had strong, innovative ideas about how to enhance the service we provide to our Broker Partners. The Sales Desk has been a vital component of the efficient day-to-day running of the Commercial Mortgages team since our inception. Whilst we don’t want to fix something which is already functioning to a high standard, Nik has some great plans in mind. These should enable us to grow in line with our ambitious targets whilst strengthening our commitment to a personal, intelligent level of service for brokers and their clients.”
