PrintDudley Building Society, the Midlands based intermediary focused mutual lender, has appointed Steve Sandiford as Head of Lending.

With the appointments of Sam Foxall as Head of Retail and Gordon Rae as Intermediary Relationship Manager, Steve’s arrival completes the senior team which Chief Executive Jeremy Wood has put together over the past six months.

Steve spent the formative years of his career at Birmingham Midshires, becoming responsible for developing and introducing a range of innovative products, which helped establish Birmingham Midshires as a leading specialist lender. He then moved to Birmingham Midshires’ parent as Head of Specialist Products for HBOS, where he also represented HBOS on industry bodies such as IMLA and the CML. Steve joins from One Savings Bank, where he was responsible for delivering a market leading suite of BTL and residential products catering for good quality, non- high street borrowers.

Jeremy Wood said:

“When I joined Dudley Building Society, it was to create an outward looking business upholding the traditional strengths of the mutual sector of strong governance and treating customers as individuals. At the same time we wanted to increase value for our members by moving our focus to generating new lending business through the intermediary channel. To do that, it was vital to fill key roles with the calibre of people to help me take the Society forward. Steve is one of those people. His track record in developing and bringing to market the kind of products that meet the needs of customers and their advisers is second to none. I am delighted to have him on the team.”

Steve Sandiford commented:

“Dudley Building Society is a mutual lender with ambition to become an important part of the renaissance of UK mortgage lending. I am looking forward to helping Jeremy and my new colleagues develop both the products and the service structure to enable the Society to reach its goals.”
