Pivot has announced the appointment of George Petrou, pictured, as senior underwriter for the short term lending and development specialist.
George has been appointed to the role as part of lender’s ongoing expansion which is on track to achieve a 300% increase in volumes this year. He brings with him over 15 years of direct lending experience, particularly with regards to the assessment of complex cases which perfectly mirrors Pivot’s offering.
George joins from Funding 365, where he was Senior Underwriter, and has also held key roles at Castle Trust and Pepper Loans.
At Pivot, George will be an integral member of the Lender’s credit team, which will include assessing the credit worthiness of new enquiries, focussing on large and complex transactions.
“As an underwriting function, our remit is to ensure that the loans that we provide are written within the bounds of our credit appetite, minimising and mitigating risks where possible. George’s skill set helps us achieve this ambition to outstanding effect ” said Sarah Jackson, Head of Underwriting at Pivot.
“Bringing experts such as George into the team underpins our ambition to provide an unrivaled, customer-centric service and I am delighted such a well-regarded and experienced bridging professional has joined the team.”
George’s appointment follows the recent news of Pivot’s partnership with Shawbrook Bank and Insight Investments, who are providing an additional £50m of debt capital to the business.
“What attracted me to Pivot was how well integrated the team was, especially with regards to the Sales and Underwriting functions. Being part of a wider property group, including a developer, construction company and fund manager means Pivot has a wealth of expertise onsite that can be drawn upon. I look forward to working with the team to help support the growth of the loan book’’.
