Ellis-Calcott hired to launch specialist lending division of new UK finance broker

Your Expert Group, the Glasgow-based specialist finance broker being set up by serial entrepreneurs, Peter Dean and Derek McPhail, today announced it has appointed Nathan Ellis-Calcott as Director of Specialist Lending.

Withover 15 years’ experience in financial services, most recently at Edinburgh-based master broker, Thistle Finance, Ellis-Calcott will drive the development of the Your Expert Group’s soon-to-launch specialist lending division through select intermediaries and
introducers.

YourExpert Group is being created out of the successful Your Mortgage Expert brand, which has been providing high street mortgage and protection products since 2006. It has been the main focus of Dean and McPhail since the sale of Carrington Dean, one of the UK’slargest insolvency practitioners, last year.

The Your Expert Group specialist lending division will provide advice on complex mortgages, secured, bridging and commercial loans, and the limited company structures and ‘Special Purpose Vehicles’ (SPVs) used by a growing number of landlords and property investors.

Given the buoyancy of the specialist finance sector in the North of England and Scotland, as developers and landlords increasingly diversify away from the saturated London and Home Counties markets, bridging and development finance will be a particular focus.

The official launch of the Your Expert Group is targeted for September 2018.
