Central Bridging win award for business excellence from the Indo-European Business Forum
Monday evening saw the prestigious House of Lords complex at the Houses of Parliament play host to the Indo-European Business Forum (IEBF) Annual Summit.
Central Bridging, with their close links to India, were among a group of achievers to be recognised for excellence in their respective fields and were honoured to collect an award from former Indian Cricket Captain, Kapil Dev and House of Lords peer Baroness Sandy Verma.
Other winners included Manish Tiwari, the founder of UK-based ethnic media agency ‘Here and Now 365’ for his contribution to the media industry and the top Indian Film Star, Sunil Shetty, who flew in from Baku, to be recognised for his contribution to Indian Art & Culture.
The event also marked the launch of a report entitled “India: A 5 Trillion Dollar Economy by 2024-25” complied by IEBF India lead, Sunil Gupta. Gupta stated that despite the recent trend of global slowdown India is “moving forwards towards achieving its dream target with the help of various factors like democracy, demography, demand, decisiveness, ease of doing business and ease of living amongst others.”
IEBF Founder-Chair Vijay Goel reminded the packed audience that the association, originally set up in 2007, was designed to help promote India among the countries of the European Union. He reassured everyone that this work will continue whatever the outcome of Brexit.
G.P. Hinduja, as a major investor in India through the Hinduja Group, spoke to the audience to address any concerns that remain about the ease of doing business in India. He praised Prime Minister Modi for his excellent vision and underlined the importance of the Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) and Non-Resident Indian’s (NRIs), stressing how vital it is to fully harness their contribution to the country.
It was perhaps wisely left to the legendary cricket skipper Dev to close proceedings. Whilst acknowledging that the fast pace of growth can cause some problems, he eloquently made the point that “India is one country that believes in peace and wants to do business. That is the strength of India. Come and invest and India will not let you down”
John Clifford, Managing Director, Central Bridging commented:
“Over a number of years now we have forged ever closer links with leading members of the Indian Business community in both London and overseas.
As these relationships have flourished, close business ties have been complimented by friendship and a strong mutual trust and we are therefore honoured to accept this award.”
