We speak to senior business development manager, Chris Parr:
What is the best thing about being in the bridging finance business?
The fast pace in which the industry moves. As we are always looking to fill a funding need and meet deadlines, the days go quickly and you don’t have to wait months on end for a deal to complete.
What keeps you focused?
Not wanting to let my introducers down. While you want to be meeting as many introducers as possible to get your message across, it is just as important to make sure you are on top of your pipeline and deals are progressing within the required timeframes.
What qualities do you look for in your employees or colleagues?
Energy, enthusiasm and positivity. I love people that are always looking for a solution.
Are you an optimist or a pessimist?
I like to think I am an optimist.
What did you want to be as a child?
Two things: a footballer and taller. Sadly, I didn’t achieve either.
What will be the greatest challenge facing the bridging finance industry in the coming months?
Normality. Nobody knows what this will look like and when it will happen, but the bridging industry is extremely resilient and always responds to the needs of property investors quicker than high-street lenders. So, although these are unusual times, I am sure there will be opportunities along the way.
Who or what makes you laugh?
Do you dread Monday mornings?
Only if Manchester United have lost at the weekend.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would be taller. A theme is developing here…
With whom would you most like to have dinner?
After the last few months of having to cook at home so much, I look forward to a nice meal out in a good restaurant with Mrs P.
