Assetz Exchange, the revolutionary property crowdfunding platform, is preparing for a Q4 2018 launch with a model to help with the solution to the UK housing crisis.

The platform allows users to invest in a range of property, from student accommodation, privately rented houses and apartments to affordable housing. Investors will be able to choose to invest in properties to be rented out, at market rent or affordably or in properties to be built and sold on according to market demand, again at market or affordable pricing. An aftermarket will provide an optional exit if there is demand.

Investments can be made privately or through an ISA, and all properties will be fully managed.

Assetz Exchange is part of the Assetz group of businesses, which includes sister company Assetz Capital, the business peer-to-peer lender that lends to small businesses and housebuilders across the UK. Since launch in 2013 it has lent over £0.6 billion.

Stuart Law, pictured, founder of the Assetz group of companies said:

“There is something very wrong with our housing market. Not enough houses have been built in the places that people want to live – and those that have been built are often priced out of reach of those that need them.

“That’s why we created Assetz Exchange. We’ll direct investors’ capital to projects and investments that bring new housing onto the market for rent or for sale as appropriate to local market conditions and demand. We will also act as the gateway for existing tenanted, landlord-held housing to be acquired, improved, rented and released for sale to homeowners over time, again as appropriate to local market conditions.

“Investors can choose to invest in a housing development to be held for the long-term, or they could carry out shorter-term investments by delivering new housing into the market by building housing schemes for rent or onward sale to homebuyers. They will also be able to choose to not only fund normal market price properties but also properties with affordable rents and affordable sale prices. We’re making entrepreneurial philanthropy accessible to everyone but still aiming to deliver a healthy income for that activity, so that everyone benefits.

“Combined, these two businesses provide a model to get housebuilding moving faster in the UK – while also delivering for our investors. We are creating a financial hub to help provide more solutions to help solve the housing crisis here in the UK.”
