The Five Minute Interview with Trevor Melly, Lending Manager, Signature Private Finance
Signature Private Finance is a well-funded principal lender offering market leading rates. A flat management structure facilitates quick decisions and certainty of delivery.
We speak to lending manager, Trevor Melly:
What is the best thing about being in the bridging finance business?
The variety of deals we look at, having the ability and flexibility to get all types of deals done. Finding a way to get deals done, not just plugging numbers into a system and being governed by “computer says no”. Also as speed is a major factor in bridging finance working closely with other professionals to deliver on time is rewarding.
What keeps you focussed?
What qualities do you look for in your employees or colleagues?
Sense of humour, honesty, knowledge, common sense, an ability to convey the joys of bridging finance with interpretive dance routines
Are you an optimist or a pessimist?
Both, I don’t believe you can be 100% either. The glass is half full if the bar is still open, half empty if it’s not!!
What did you want to be as a child?
A sports scientist so I’m on the right track! Oh and taller.
What will be the greatest challenge facing the bridging finance industry in the coming months?
Obviously the uncertainty around Brexit which will be a challenge, the availability of satisfactory long term products to facilitate the exit for bridging loans.
Who or what makes you laugh?
Father Ted, best comedy ever made.
Do you dread Monday mornings?
No love them, means I don’t have to do any more jobs at home.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
The tendency to snap hook when I’m trying to hit a big drive.
With whom would you most like to have dinner?
Dave Grohl and the Dalai Lama
