Shawbrook Bank has scooped a prestigious award at a ceremony which recognises the achievements of the most successful banks, issuers, investors, rating agencies and service providers in Europe.

Shawbrook – a specialist lender to the UK’s SMEs – was named ‘Debut Securitization Issuer of the Year’ at the Global Capital European Securitization Awards 2020.

Held in London, Global Capital’s second annual event rewards outstanding achievement in European structured finance markets over the course of the year.

Event organisers welcome votes from across the industry, this year attracting more than 3,000.

Shawbrook was recognised for its inaugural transaction, Shawbrook Mortgage Funding 2019-1, which securitised a pool of £295m of BTL receivables.

Chris Such, Senior Director at Shawbrook, Paul Wilde, the Bank’s Group Treasurer and Sam Foskett the Bank’s Head of Legal, were on hand to receive the award.

Chris said:

“We are delighted to receive this award for what was an outstanding debut transaction for us.

We would like to thank all of those who took the time to vote for us and to recognise the parties that worked alongside us on this transaction. We’re now looking forward to working on additional transactions in the future.”
