Octane Capital Cup

Product-less lender, Octane Capital, today announced PIA Financial won the second #OctaneCapitalCup.

On the afternoon of Wednesday 5th June, a day that will go down in specialist finance history, 24 teams of Octane’s key intermediary partners competed for the now legendary trophy at Powerleague Wembley.

The biggest moment of the day was when Robert Pires, ex-Arsenal midfielder and French World Cup winner, trotted out for PIA Financial. Donning the the grey outfit of PIA Financial, Pires steered his team to victory almost effortlessly.

The runners up in the Octane Capital Cup, playing PIA in the final, were De Villiers Chartered Surveyors. They were also superb but lacked the sublime touches provided by Pires.

A new award was created this year, the ‘Olden Glove’. It was awarded to Jon Boulton, 65, of City Finance Brokers. Boulton turned back the clock to put in some saves that Peter Schmeichel himself would be proud of.

The victorious teams and individuals from the Octane Capital tournament:

  • Winner Octane Capital Cup– PIA Financial Group Limited
  • Runners up of Octane Capital Cup -De Villiers Chartered Surveyors
  • Winner Octane Capital Plate– Fusion Consulting
  • Runners up of Octane Capital Plate– First Financial
  • Winner Octane Capital Spoon– Pure Commercial Finance
  • Runners up of Octane Capital Spoon –  City Finance Brokers

Mark Posniak, Managing Director, Octane Capital, commented:

“We’re once again delighted at how successful the Octane Capital Cup tournament proved to be, welcoming over 200 industry professionals and #Partners to Powerleague Wembley. It’s outstanding to see such dedication from all of our intermediary partners, as we know that it isn’t easy to take the day off in such a fast-paced industry. It will come as no surprise that we have already started organising next year’s event and are looking forward to welcoming our partners back to what promises to be another mesmerising day of football.”

Jonathan Samuels, CEO, Octane Capital, added:

“With Robert Pires gracing the Powerleague pitches, this year’s tournament was something to behold. Watching him weave his way effortlessly through countless huffing-and-puffing middle-aged men is an image I’ll never forget. Rumours that we are currently liaising with Gareth Bale’s agent to see if he is interested in a non-exec role on the Octane board are utterly false.”
