What is the best thing about being in the bridging finance business?
For me, it’s about taking a client’s “problem” and showing them how to turn it into an opportunity.
What keeps you focused?
It’s good old-fashioned service, where a broker feels that we should be the first port of call to solve their client’s situation.
What qualities do you look for in your employees or colleagues?
I look for a can-do attitude – There is nearly always a way.
Are you an optimist or a pessimist?
I am always an optimist. There is always a chance to seal a deal.
What did you want to be as a child?
My first memory of a possible career was being a TV camera operator, not sure where that came from, but I was fascinated with what happens behind the TV cameras.
What will be the greatest challenge facing the bridging finance industry in the coming months?
I think it’s the things we as individuals have very little control over, such as a global economic downturn or out-of-control inflation.
Who or what makes you laugh?
Most British comedians, old or new.
Do you dread Monday mornings?
No. I never have. I have worked for myself for most of my career so to me Monday mornings were opportunities.
I look forward to seeing the boss in the office.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I wouldn’t change anything. I’m happy as I am.
With whom would you most like to have dinner?
Grant Cardone.
