What is the best thing about being in the bridging and development finance business?

That every case is different. You never know what deal is going to come across your desk next and the quirks within it.

Also the relationships and people you get to know like friends.

What keeps you focused?

Getting a deal to completion and seeing it through knowing I helped make it happen.

What qualities do you look for in your employees or colleagues?

Honesty, integrity, supportive. And an epic sense of humour!

Are you an optimist or a pessimist?

Optimist, you can’t be in business development as a pessimist. No one would want to see me 😂

What did you want to be as a child?

Events organiser, I wanted to arrange parties. Now I just attend them/

What will be the greatest challenge facing the bridging finance industry in the coming months?

It’s all to do with how the economy reacts to the recent budget.

If conditions get worse, and inflation rises and there is less demand for property, then borrowers may struggle to exit. This makes life a bit riskier for us lenders!

Who or what makes you laugh?

Dark humour and watching fail videos.

Do you dread Monday mornings?

Never, no day is the same in this industry which keeps it interesting

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

My anxiety. I definitely am known to overthink sometimes and I should just trust the process.

With whom would you most like to have dinner?

My friends and family, you can’t get better than catching up with the people you love.
