The Five Minute Interview with Trupti Edwards, Business Development Manager, Bridgebank Capital
By Bridging Loan Directory -
We speak to their newest recruit, Business Development Manager, Trupti Edwards:
What is the best thing about being in the bridging finance business?
Although its early days, I’d say variety and the ability to use bridging finance as a solution to a problem. Meeting some fantastic people is of course an added bonus.
What keeps you focussed?
The importance of what we do.
What qualities do you look for in your employees or colleagues?
Professionalism, teamwork and a sense of humour – Your colleagues are the greatest support you can have at work and you only get back out what you put in.
Are you an optimist or a pessimist?
Optimist – there’s no point dwelling on the negative as it gets you nowhere and in the current market our customers don’t want pessimism. Realist maybe?
What did you want to be as a child?
A dancer but these days, I have neither the stamina or the moves.
What will be the greatest challenge facing the bridging finance industry in the coming months?
Whilst there are a lot of lenders vying for bridging business at present, I think its important that the industry as a whole recognises the need to maintain responsible lending practices for reputational reasons. Bridgebank’s focus on quality business, underwriting expertise coupled with a very strong appetite to grow means that we are well positioned for the challenges ahead.
Who or what makes you laugh?
Do you dread Monday mornings?
Not at all. There’s nothing better than getting out and about and helping clients solve cases. These days, we’re all guilty of checking emails over the weekend and responding to enquiries. A bit sad maybe, but at least it softens the start to Monday mornings.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Eat less chocolate.
With whom would you most like to have dinner?
