Shawbrook BankShawbrook has started the New Year with two key additions to its commercial lending team. The appointment of Andrew Faed and Pete Turner as Business Development Managers is part of the continued expansion of Shawbrook’s commercial lending division to support the bank’s ambitious growth targets for 2013 and beyond.

Andrew Faed has worked in the mortgage industry for over 30 years, initially in the residential market as a lender and broker, and since 1989 in the commercial market, where he has worked for a number of leading mortgage lenders, West Bromwich Commercial, Nationwide, Citigroup and Citybank. He joins Shawbrook from Aldermore Bank.

Peter Turner joins Shawbrook from All Types of Mortgages, a well-established packager, where he ran the company’s Commercial & Short Term business. Pete spent the first 13 years of his working life at Barclays, where among other roles he worked as a Local Business Manager with a portfolio of around 300 business customers. After his time at Barclays Pete moved to RBS in a Business Development Role, followed by Commercial 1, a leading secured loans and commercial brokers, heading up the company’s commercial & short term team.

Karen Bennett, Head of Sales & Marketing, Commercial Lending at Shawbrook Bank said,

“We’re really excited to be expanding our team with two talented commercial mortgage specialists. Andy and Pete bring different experience and perspectives on the commercial mortgage industry – Andy comes from a specialist bank, while Pete’s experience as a broker means he has an in-depth understanding of the journey from first enquiry to drawdown. Our expanded business development team will allow us to grow our panel of Broker Partners and Registered Introducers whilst continuing to ensure we’re offering our broker partners the best possible service, ultimately enabling them to complete more deals with Shawbrook.”

Peter Turner said:

“Shawbrook Bank has burst onto the scene and filled a massive gap in the commercial and investment property market with innovative products, competitive pricing and a wealth of experience in the team that has been easy to sell to my brokers and introducers in my previous role working for a packager.  Shawbrook also has a personal side with great staff that want to build relationships with their brokers, and help them place and complete on business. It’s what they all get up for in the morning. I’m really looking forward to being part of this team and building and supporting our broker panel.”

Andrew Faed said,

“There is currently a serious shortage of funding in the marketplace which makes it important for clients and intermediaries to be aware of the options available to them. New relationships need to be formed as a number of lenders are seeking to reduce their property exposure, and this provides a great opportunity for newcomers such as Shawbrook to satisfy the demand and provide alternative facilities. The lending landscape has changed significantly in recent years and I anticipate that my role at Shawbrook will be a challenging but rewarding experience. I look forward to 2013 and beyond.”
