MBE Leeds Expo

This year’s Mortgage Business Expo (MBE) Leeds on 25th April, will be host to a wide spectrum of lenders for brokers to meet and find out about their latest criteria enabling them to help even more customers.

The types of lender exhibiting and presenting at the Expo include Al Rayan Bank and Gatehouse Bank who will be on hand to discuss opportunities in the increasingly popular Shariah finance market for mortgages and buy to let property acquisition.

Building societies will also be on hand to cover the traditional and specialist requirements for the growing need of brokers and intermediaries to be able to serve a wider selection of customers’ mortgage needs. The societies represented include Bath Building Society, the Principality, Stafford & Railway and the Leek United.

Specialist lenders are also available to discuss cases that require bridging, commercial, second charge or commercial funding. Aldermore, Masthaven, Together, Vida, Kensington and Foundation Homeloans will be there for brokers to get full information about their latest criteria.

Many lenders and service providers have exhibited with MBE at other Expos and the event has attracted new lenders and finance companies that are exhibiting for the first time.

Brokers, IFAs, landlords and financial intermediaries have been registering free for the event on 25th April at the Royal Armouries, and registrations are already up 25%.

MBE Expos have real business benefits for intermediaries and continue to remain a popular way to meet many lenders under one roof in a relaxed but business-focused environment.

Keynote speakers include William Holman of the Bank of England, Roger Evans of Aldermore and Charles Haresnape of Gatehouse Bank, with Charles discussing the increasing demand for Shariah finance. Mark Dryden of 360Dotnet will also be presenting on the latest technical developments for the industry.

The Financial Intermediary and Broker Association (FIBA) will be hosting a debate specially for the event. Adam Tyler, the chairman of FIBA, will Chair the debate which will cover topics such as insights into the opportunities for financial intermediaries and lenders in the current market.

Between them the high profile speakers will deliver insights into the economic outlook and the opportunities for financial intermediaries and lenders in a fast-moving finance industry.

There will also be two panel debates with market-leading experts and influencers – a specialist lending discussion and a fintech panel on open banking and GDPR.

Mike Mikunda, Event Director, commented:

“The Leeds Expo continues to be popular with lenders and brokers alike. It will provide the opportunity to learn more about the possibilities available with a wide selection of lending choices in a superb venue where finance professionals can talk face to face with lenders and service providers. There’s been a big increase in brokers registering to attend the Expo and it’s going to be a tremendous event.

“The extensive CPD accredited seminars and panel debates will offer the opportunity to educate brokers on the benefits of all types of lending and get the key messages across on the economy and property markets. I whole-heartedly recommend Yorkshire-based intermediaries register for free to be part of this Expo. It could be the best decision they make to take the business forward.”
