London, 23 January 2013 — London-based high net worth property finance specialist, MCIFA, has appointed Nick Rees as Senior Partner and Director, Private Clients.

Previously Senior Partner at Charcol, where he was the top producer over the seven years he worked there, Nick has 23 years’ experience in financial services, including helping set up International Clients at Savills Private Finance. Nick is renowned in the industry for his ability to structure highly complex on- and offshore property finance.

Joining Nick at MCIFA are Relationship Manager, Shirin Uma, and Client Account Manager, Anna Wray. Shirin has 13 years’ experience in the property field and was previously an award-winning Senior Sales Negotiator at Anscombe & Ringland in Hampstead. She will head up MCIFA’s Partnership Program.

Like Nick, Anna joins from Charcol where she worked since early 2008. Anna has 12 years’ experience in property finance, eight of which were spent underwriting mortgage approvals and performing onsite client risk assessment with major banks.

The new additions come at a time of strong growth for the company, which, after 25 years, recently rebranded from Mortgage Centre IFA to MCIFA, celebrating its new identity with 200 top industry experts at The Met Bar in Mayfair. MCIFA’s turnover grew by 30% last year and is targeted to grow by around 40% during 2013.

Nick Rees, Director, Private Clients, MCIFA, commented:

“After seven enjoyable and productive years at Charcol, I felt that joining MCIFA was the next logical step in my development. MCIFA is renowned in the industry for its focus on the high net worth and their more complex deal requirements, while Paul has big plans for the company, as reflected in the rebrand and the appointments of Shirin and Anna. I look forward to working with Paul and the team to provide an even stronger proposition for MCIFA’s clients and partners in the years ahead.”

Paul Munford, CEO, MCIFA, added:

“By rebranding and adding some of the industry’s biggest hitters, we are focused on maintaining our position as the premier London property financiers for the high net worth, primarily through investment and development finance, and short-term loans. Nick, Shirin and Anna are all very experienced operators and I have no doubt that they will help take MCIFA to the next level and deliver an unrivalled service to our clients.”
