Mark Harrison has joined Stretton Capital as part of the company’s ambitious growth plans heading into the new year.

Mark – who has held senior positions at Merrill Lynch, GE Capital and more recently, Amicus – is joining as director of business development and will spearhead Stretton’s marketing and sales operations.

Founded in 2016, Stretton Capital has since lent more than £20 million across the UK through bridging and development loans. With a niche appetite for industrial and agricultural deals, and products made readily available in Scotland, the lender has seen a surge of interest from brokers and borrowers during the last few months and has needed to expand its team to keep up with demand.

Mark Harrison said:

“I am delighted to be joining Stretton Capital. As soon as I met the Ed Chantler, David Thrussell and the team, I knew this is where I wanted to be.

They have a true entrepreneurial approach to short-term lending which is reflected in our product suite and a simple no nonsense process which I know will make us the ‘go to’ lender for many brokers throughout the UK.”

Earlier in the year, Stretton snapped up commercial manager Matthew Gammond from corporate finance house Racefields and has since hired underwriter Natalie Smethurst from Seneca. The team are now working towards becoming one of the leading providers of short-term finance in the country with a loan book that’s growing by the day.
