Matthew CortesFleet Mortgages, the buy-to-let and specialist lender, has today (6th March 2017) announced the appointment of a new Business Development Manager (BDM) covering East London, Essex and East Anglia.

Matthew Cortes will report to Sales Director, Ross Turrell, and will look after Fleet’s many relationships with advisers and intermediaries across the region.

Matthew has extensive experience gained in a variety of roles in the property and mortgage market, and has worked in both the intermediary and lending sectors.

He began his career as an estate agent branch manager, focusing extensively on new-build developments, before moving into the agent’s brokerage building up a significant client base.

After working as an independent adviser he moved to the lending sector, taking up a role as a BDM with CHL Mortgages.

Fleet Mortgages is an intermediary-only, buy-to-let lender and its products are available to individuals, limited companies and those looking to invest in Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO).

Ross Turrell, Sales Director at Fleet Mortgages, commented:

“Having worked with Matthew in the past, we have always been impressed with his wealth of experience, his depth of knowledge and his work ethic. Having worked as a broker and for lenders, Matthew is acutely aware of the requirements on both sides and is able to understand the needs of the adviser market and provide the support and insight they are looking for. The buy-to-let market across East London and Essex is strong and particularly important for Fleet Mortgages – having a BDM with the qualities that Matthew has in that area is vital for us as a lender with significant expansion plans. We’re confident Matthew will be a major asset for us and would urge advisers in the area to contact him to see how Fleet Mortgages is able to help their buy-to-let clients.”

Matthew Cortes, BDM at Fleet Mortgages, said:

“I am very pleased to be joining Fleet Mortgages and am looking forward to presenting our proposition to the advisory community across my region. Having been an adviser myself, I’m fully aware of the value of a quality BDM, and fully plan to fulfil this role myself. I’m looking forward to meeting brokers, building those relationships and working for a forward-thinking and progressive lender in this highly important specialist sector.”
