Allegra Penny

Funding 365 is a fast-growing bridging lender with integrity who’s shaking up the industry – combining the lowest rates offered by the bigger lenders with the bespoke service and quick processing capabilities of a smaller firm.

We speak to relationship manager, Allegra Penny:

What is the best thing about being in the bridging finance business?

I find it very exciting to be part of such a fast-paced industry where deals move extremely quickly. Often, we find ourselves working towards an urgent deadline and as speed is at the heart of Funding 365 it is normal for us to get a loan completed in a matter of days.

What keeps you focused?

A desire to better myself and learn more. I love that in this industry you learn something new every day which keeps this job very interesting.

What qualities do you look for in your employees or colleagues?

It is so important to get on with colleagues so that would have to be a stand out quality, along with a positive attitude and a drive to succeed as a team.

Are you an optimist or a pessimist?

I’m definitely an optimist, as there is almost always a silver lining to every situation.

What did you want to be as a child?

When I was about 10 years old all I wanted was to be an Olympian, whether it was for swimming, running or skiing. Essentially, I had a very similar mindset to a young ‘Eddie the Eagle’.

What will be the greatest challenge facing the bridging finance industry in the coming months?

The number of new lenders who have entered the market in the last few months has definitely not gone unnoticed, so I would say competition will be one of the big challenges this year. In a packed market, lenders are having to find a way to stand out – luckily at Funding 365 our service, speed and competitive rates are keeping us at the forefront of the industry.

Who or what makes you laugh?

You can’t go wrong with an old Friends episode (a serious guilty pleasure!).

Do you dread Monday mornings?

Not at all – Monday mornings are great as they are a chance to start afresh and tackle new challenges head on.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I would love to be fluent in another language as I think it would be a great life skill to have.

With whom would you most like to have dinner?

I’m a serious foodie so it would just have to be someone who eats as much food as I do!
