First Olympics site flat sells for £435k

It has been reported that the palatial penthouse at the Olympic site – which is being rented by the BBC during the Games – has been sold at auction to a family from Surrey for £435,000.

Auctioneers Allsop had a guide price of £400,000 on the penthouse, but Jane Mosajada from Warlingham bid £435,000 – not least because she will receive more than £117,000 in rent from the BBC.

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom penthouse, which has an open-plan L-shaped reception room, will have spectacular views of the opening ceremony and stadium, which is why the BBC is paying a hefty rent to have it until September 2012.

‘We think the Olympics are so wonderful and exciting and we wanted to be a part of it,’ says Mrs Mosajada. However, she will not occupy the penthouse until the Olympics are well over.
